MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – January 10, 2011 5:00 PM

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
The Selectboard stated that they have received several complaints on the condition of Moreau Road. The board also stated that they can not use the Town of Tolland’s finances to repair a road that they do not own.
Brad Curry, Town of Blandford, Department of Public Works, Superintendent stated that he has presented the Selectboard of the Town of Blandford several options and requests for repairing of the road. Brad will be making additional suggesting to the board such as some culvert replacements, drainage work and re-profiling the road. Brad and Wayne will be working together on the condition of Moreau Road.
Wayne Simeone was told to stop leaving household trash at the Transfer Station during off hours. Wayne stated he will follow the Transfer Station’s posted hours.
Edwin discussed a written mutual aid agreement between towns for the Police Department. The agreement will be reviewed.
Robert & Robin Littlefield, Tolland Fire Department requested that the license agreement between WPOA and the Town of Tolland for the Dry Hydrant to be located in WPOA. The license will be discussed with the President of WPOA in the spring.
A new laptop computer will be purchased from Whalley Computers for the Tolland Fire Department. The purchase of the computer is within budget and approved by the board.
Eric discussed service time with John Verones, Owners Project Manager for the Tolland Building Committee. John Verones suggested that the committee remain for project updates.
Due to an addendum, bid dates have been extended by two weeks for both the sub and general bids. Sub bids – Wednesday, January 26th 12PM, General bids – Thursday, February 3rd. 2PM.
Wayne was told not to purchase an excavator. The monies that were being used for the purchase was transferred to Free Cash on the Advisement of the Department of Revenue.
